DRIVERS OF GLOBALISATION

We saw in the previous activity that globalisation work through some interconnected means. Some examples of the drivers behind globalisation that were identified included: the promotion of free trade, multinational corporations, transport, the media and communications technologies, and consumerism.

Since World War II, and especially since the 1980s, governments encounter reduced many barriers to world-wide trade through international agreements such as the General Agreement on Tariffs and disdain (GATT) and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
