Civic Participation: Bloomington Committee of Sustainability (1)
For the abet civic participation I watched a video on the previous run into for Bloomingtons Committee of Sustainability. At the offset printing of the meeting there was a call to order. Immediately avocation the call to order was roll call. Every nonpareil on the commissioning was accounted for. The misdeed Chair, Cynthia Shelton, led the meeting and introduced a new member to the committee named Molly ODonnell. Following roll call was magazine for public comment. Following public comment were all announcements that the committee members had to make. One of the members mentioned the Hoosier to Hoosier sale and getting more volunteers for the event. The Hoosier to Hoosier exchange is a program that collects reusable items and puts them for resale. The committee member declared that in 2011 the event collected 27 tons of items and brocaded over 17,000 dollars for charity. Another announcement made was the progress of one member and his proposal for greening the infrastructure of the t admit. The project he really wanted to focus on was taking the scuttle of greening neighborhoods.

After the announcement of the committee, the meeting moved on to the report on the Taste of Bloomington cycle effort. The committee concluded that the effort was not as palmy asit could have been. They talked of how the recycling bins at the event were not as abundant as the trash cans and that people were too bustling to locate them. Apparently, there was also miscommunication of who would be picking up the recycling at the conclusion of the event. With this mix up, the recycled items were almost thrown and twisted away.
